Enjoy Fishing
Another great way to spend some time outdoors in the spring is by fishing. Galveston is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico where you can find all kinds of fish out in the water. One popular spot to set up for a casual day of fishing is the Galveston Fishing Pier. This is a 1,100-foot-long pier that has all of the amenities on hand, including a gift shop, bar, and even a restaurant. Make sure to purchase a fishing license before you throw your lure out in the water. The local shops can provide you with a license and rental gear you need. Some of the best fishing however is done out on the water. Book a fishing charter that will take you further out with Galveston Bay Fishing Trips or Galveston Party Boats. Both companies offer fishing charters that take you deeper into the water for half day treks. This is a great way to reel up larger fish such as red snapper that are more difficult to find just off the coast.
